Visitors to Versailles:
1682-1789

The Met
2018

This exhibition sought to portray the experience of being a visitor to the palace of Versaille during its days of glory. Our design draws from trompe l’oeil techniques, prevalent in Baroque art and architecture, to evoke certain qualities of the palace’s interiors.

The exhibition galleries are conceived as an enfilade of abstract period rooms, mean to evoke different rooms in the palace of Versailles. The integration of art, graphic design and architecture is essential in achieving these immersive spaces.
